New Year, New Effort!

Posted by quilthorse on Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

I can't believe it is January, 2012 already!  2011 was a year I wuold not like to repeat, and is the reason this site has languished like it has.

But 2012 is a new year, with new accomplishments and goals.  After my stroke last January, I had to relearn a lot of things, such as as how to sew a straight line.  Today I can honestly say that although I am now slower than I was, today I turned out a block with lots of matching points and they were perfect.  That's what it's all about anyway, isn't it?  Learning new techniques, perfecting or adapting old ones.

This weekend is the Tucson Quilters Guild Quilt Show, and I have 3 quilts hanging in it.  2 were to be judged, and the one I completed in toto after my stroke will not be judged.  I know the small errors in it, but I am proud of it.  I am proud of all the quilts that I have produced.

In April I have a teaching and lecture job in Phoenix.  I am really looking forward to getting back into that part of my life.

I am still riding my horse, and finally making progress in that area, too.

Life is reallly good right now, and I certainly have no complaints!
